Pizza here is amazing, good amount of cheese and enjoyed vegetarian 4sq pizza which was appropriately priced for a Restaurant in downtown. The service felt little slow! Admired the online payment portal but Gratuity (20%) without mentioning earlier even on a single serving felt in-appropriate and adding to this payment portal asks for Tip ????????.
This Buddy's pizza location is really nice, however the service and quality of pizza here don't seem to match up with my previous Buddy's experiences. The bread sticks were freshly baked and good, but they did not have too much garlic flavor. We ordered a plain cheese pizza but there was barely any sauce - the waitress did bring us a side of sauce when we asked for it so that was nice. The eastern market veggie pizza was good. However, both pizzas had thinner crust than what I remember for pizza from Buddy's. On a Sunday night, it wasn't too busy however service was a little slow. This location does automatically add a 20% gratuity to your bill.
We visited from Canada on July 3rd and really enjoyed our meal at Buddy’s. The Buddy Bread was a bit stiff and chewy, but overall, the food was really good and filling. The Eastern market pizza and Greektown were especially great. We were offered to take a survey in exchange for a review of their new cheesecake. We happily obliged and the cheesecake was amazing. The real compliment to this restaurant is the servers. I wish I could remember their names, but our waiter (his name started with M) and the waitress who was assisting him were top-notch. So incredibly friendly and polite, we felt right at home. We will definitely come back when we visit Detroit.
Tried their pizza (takeout) based upon top places to try pizza. Thought it might be over hyped due to it being in a prime location next to an MLB and NFL stadium. Anyways, I thought this pizza was very good and lived up to the hype of Detroit style pizza. Crust had a light crisp and service wasn't bad either as I went early afternoon. Needless to say I tried another restaurant that had a higher rating than Buddy's, and still end up returning to Buddy's before I left the area. Pizza takes roughly 30 mins to prepare. Worth the wait.
